[Stratford, ON] – On Friday, MPP Matthew Rae met with representatives from the Stratford Army Navy Air Force Veterans Unit 261 (ANAF) to hear about the difference made by their $192,100 Capital grant from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).
“Our government is proud to support local veteran organizations that make a difference in people’s lives,” said MPP Rae. “This $192,100 Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital Grant will improve accessibility and increase the use of the ANAF building, ensuring it can continue to serve the growing needs of our community for years to come.”
The grant, awarded last summer, was used to replace the building’s aging HVAC (heating and cooling) systems, buy a new LED Sign for the property, replace and install a new dividing wall for the hall as well as install a state-of-the-art audio/video system with hearing aid accessibility/assistance functionality.
“Whether it’s helping people learn new things, connect with their community, or simply have fun, organizations like the Stratford Army Navy Air Force Veterans Unit 261 provide services that make a difference,” said Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. “That’s why grant support through the Ontario Trillium Foundation is so important. This funding will help ensure it remains at the heart of the community for decades to come.”
The Stratford ANAF supports many different community organizations and programs, offers bursaries and funding to local students and schools and commits to aiding those who have served their country.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Ontario government with a mission to build healthy and vibrant communities across the province.
