Rae announces over $1.3 million in funding for local Public Health Units

[Perth-Wellington] – Today, Matthew Rae, MPP for Perth-Wellington announced over $1.3 million in funding for local Public Health Units. This funding supports local public health initiatives and service delivery priorities. 

“Public Health Units play a vital role in protecting our rural communities,” said Matthew Rae, MPP for Perth-Wellington. “This investment supports prevention, preparedness, and the frontline services families depend on every day.” 

This funding supports our government’s work to strengthen public health to improve capacity, stability, and sustainability in the sector and deliver more equitable health outcomes for Ontarians. This includes working with public health partners to refine the roles and responsibilities of public health units to build healthier communities across the province.

This is part of a larger $60.09 million investment in additional one-time funding for Public Health Units across Ontario.
