Rae Announces Funding for Local Public Health Units

[Perth-Wellington] – Today, Matthew Rae, MPP for Perth-Wellington announced over $1.95 million in funding for local Public Health Units. This funding supports programs and services across Perth-Wellington and Ontario.

“Our Public Health Units help ensure we have healthy and vibrant communities,” Rae said. “This additional funding will ensure our public health units can continue to provide valuable services for our rural communities.”

This funding supports our government’s work to strengthen public health, including restoring provincial base funding to the level previously provided under the 2020 cost-share formula, and providing 1 per cent growth base funding for the 2024 calendar year.

This is part of a larger $91.7 million investment in additional one-time and base funding for Public Health Units across Ontario.
